Northeast Asia transport corridor under planning |
Government officials from Russia, China and Japan have recently staged a collective discussion for joint development of the common project: Northeast Asia Transport Corridor.
Based on each other’s previous development basis, a general plan has been drawn up for laying and construction of railways and ports in Northeast Asia, which covers two areas of Russia, one area of Korea, Tumenjiang area of China, and direct rail-sea connection between the northern ports of Japan.
It is learned, the first step of the project is to establish a direct rail-land connection for container service in the above areas, and to facilitate cargo transport to processing enterprises located in the triangle region, that mainly use customer supplied raw materials for operation. |
